Acting Prime Minister and Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.

Minister for Economy and Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum has assured the residents in Savusavu that he will look into the issue of extending Savusavu Airport.

During his visit to Northern Division for 2017/2018 National Budget Consultation, a resident Justin Hunter told him that government should widen the Savusavu Airport as the town is getting populated every day.

Hunter says that more tourists are now coming to Savusavu and there is a need for bigger planes.

He says that Savusavu Town is developing rapidly and more investors are expected in future.

Sayed-Khaiyum told the residents that he will talk to experts from Airports Fiji Limited on the issue.
