The people of Sigatoka can now enjoy free wifi after the launch of the free public wifi hotspot at Sigatoka Riverside today.
Acting Prime Minister and Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says several areas in Sigatoka will now have wifi hot spots.
He says the hot spots will provide safe spaces for people to be able to congregate, meet up to use internet services and interact with each other.
Wifi hotspots have also been launched in Ratu Sukuna Park in Suva, FNU Natabua campus and Savusavu.
$40 million has been allocated in the 2018/2019 National Budget to the ICT sector for increased speed in public WiFi hot spots in Fiji.
