The Asian Development Bank will today sign agreements with the Green Climate Fund and the Fijian government to improve water and sanitation service to the greater Suva area.
More then 300,000 people will benefit from this agreement.
The aim of the project is to ensure that critical infrastructure is resilient to climate change.
The Green Climate Fund concluded its last Board meeting of 2017 in Cairo by approving 11 new projects and programmes valued at USD392.86 million to assist developing countries respond to climate change.
Additionally, the board approved the accreditation of five new partner organisations as Accredited Entities which includes the Fiji Development Bank.
The Green Climate Fund’s now settle with a total Accredited Entities of 59.
The agreement will be signed by the Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama the Green Climate Fund CEO Howard Bansey and Vice President of the Asian Development Bank, Stephen Groff and the Chair of the Water Authority of Fiji, PL Munasinghe at Sheraton Hotel in Denarau later today.
