87 students graduated from the Sangam College of Nursing in Labasa today.
During the graduation ceremony, Minister for Health and Medical Services Jone Usamate reminded the students that today marks the day when they should step out into their careers as qualified mid wives and nurses.
He said that with the challenges of a growing and rapidly ageing population, our healthcare needs are expected to rise in the coming years.
He added that there is a need to expand our public healthcare services to ensure that Fijians will continue to have access to quality and affordable care.
Usamate said that a good education goes beyond jobs and should bring out the best in us, to allow us to be the best we can be, and make a difference to our friends, families and nation.
