Fiji has now achieved 87% Voluntary Non-remunerated Blood donation in 2014.
This has been confirmed by the Minister for Health Jone Usamate who says that Fiji should be achieving the 100% target in 2018.
Usamate says that achieving this target would only be made possible if resources and necessary policies are made available.
He says that the blood bus donated to the Western Zone from Japan is a timely donation and augers well with the ministry’s endeavor to reach the 100% voluntary non-remunerated blood donation in 2018.
Usamate adds that the donation will also increase their blood drive campaign in the Western Division.
