The e-ticketing system has registered 856,235 users so far.
This was revealed in parliament by Acting Prime Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum who says the average top-up value per month for a e-ticketing card is $10.
Sayed-Khaiyum also says the average total sales transaction value is 9.5 million dollars per month.
He says more than 400 jobs have been created after the implementation of the e-ticketing system and LTA has also hired 90 people to ensure people abide by the law when using the e-ticketing system.
Responding to a question by the Opposition Leader Ro Teimumu Kepa on making sure e-ticketing top-up stations are conveniently provided, Sayed-Khaiyum said in the next few weeks Vodafone Fiji will be looking at using M-PAISA to top up e-ticketing cards.
He says they are also looking at using near field communication where people will be able to use their phone, tap it on the e-ticketing machine and then funds will be deducted.
