85 confirmed cases of dengue reported to Health Ministry

85 confirmed cases of dengue fever have been reported to the Ministry of Health.

The Ministry says 55 cases are from the Northern division which is clustered in the Macuata district, 43 from the Western division including areas in Nadi, Lautoka and Ba while 2 cases are in the Central Division from the Suva - Nausori corridor.

According to the Ministry, the staff at the borders are also on alert so that no case of Chikungunya enters Fiji.

Around 1,000 dengue fever cases were recorded last year.
