84 students from the districts of Nakurukuruvakatini, Naleya, Wainimala, Magodro and Navatusila who attend Wainimakutu Village School have welcomed the school’s newly built dormitory.
While speaking at the opening of the dormitory, Minister for Education Mahendra Reddy reminded the community members of Government’s continued support and commitment towards the development of the education sector.
He adds that boarding life alone does not guarantee success and that students must take advantage of the opportunities by participating in boarding programs, sharing meals with peers and forming study groups with fellow students.
Proud parent Merelita Tuinaimi could not hold her emotions as she expressed her gratitude.
Tuinaimi says that her Year 8 daughter will not have to travel far as she would be boarding and will be able to make use of the resources the school has to offer.
The construction of this dormitory cost $40,000 and was funded by Ministry of Education.
