807 people in Taveuni given Small and Micro Enterprises grants

A total of 807 people in Taveuni have become the latest recipients of the 2016/2017 Micro and Small Business Grant programme.

Minister for Industry ,Trade and Tourism Faiyaz Koya has handed out the grants at the Wairiki Parish School in Taveuni.

The total grant amount distributed was $786,642.39.

Koya says with the inclusion of Taveuni , government has now distributed a total of $12.7m to 14,012 micro entrepreneurs around the country.

He says this has a compounding effect of improving the livelihoods of 66,000 individuals and their families.

Koya says this begins grant disbursement in the Northern  Division, which will include Nabouwalu after disbursements in Savusavu, Labasa and Seaqaqa .
