80 households will benefit from the Natokowaqa Wastewater Project in Lautoka which is two weeks away from completion.
Authority CEO Opetaia Ravai says they have worked closely with the Ministry of Infrastructure, the Housing Authority of Fiji and the Lautoka City Council to address the sewage problem faced by the residents in Natokowaqa.
Ravai says they are committed to providing clean water and sanitation to all Fijians.
WAF Supervisor on site, Ratu Tevita Tuimacilai says the project is divided into five phases and each phase has progressed very well since the project began in October last year.
The area faced block sewer pipes for 10 years and during a heavy downpour, toilets would be blocked and compounds and pipes would be filled with wastewater.
The project is expected to be completed by the 24th of this month.
