Eight people will be produced at the Sigatoka Magistrates Court today for their alleged involvement in the cultivation of marijuana in the Navosa Highlands.
Chief of Intelligence and Investigations, ACP Luke Navela said they have all been charged with the unlawful cultivation of illicit drugs.
Three people also charged with the unlawful cultivation of illicit drugs were produced in a special court sitting over the weekend.
Sakiusa Balenavatu was charged with two counts while Semi Nauca and Maciu Libu have both been charged with one count each.
They have been remanded in custody and their next court hearing will be on the 8th of next month.
Navela said eleven people were arrested over the weekend with the assistance of members of the community.
More than 38,000 marijuana plants have been uprooted by the Operation Cavuraka team currently in the Navosa Highlands.
