The National Employment Centre has registered 56,287 people since 2010 and 7,676 of these people have informed the centre that they have found jobs.
The centre says there could be more registered people who have been employed but they have not informed the centre.
Meanwhile the draft National Employment Policy is expected to go to cabinet by March this year.
Deputy Secretary for Ministry of Employment, Vilimoni Baledrokadroka says that the intent is to get the frame work first in place through the policy on employment and then they look into the action plans.
A person attending the consultation suggested that each of the Government ministries should take five people with disabilities.
Baledrokadroka says it is a valid statement and they intend to get the policy endorsed after which they will get the key players involved.
He highlighted that majority of the questions asked by the public were mainly focused on the young people in terms of the education provided in our school system including tertiary institutions and the relevance to the employment market and the issues in relation to building the capacity of our young people.
Baledrokadroka says a lot of interest is coming through for self employment and that is an option which the government is vigorously promoting.
He adds that the related issues to self employment are accessibility to land for people who want to venture into farming.
