Seventy‑six local entrepreneurs from around the country received their Fijian‑crafted licences at the 5th National Women’s Expo held in Suva yesterday.
Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism, Premila Kumar encouraged them to get their business registered formally to sustain and grow in future.
Kumar told local entrepreneurs that it is artisans like them who can provide those visiting Fiji with Fiji made products.
The Minister added that tourism is the largest revenue earner for Fiji.
Officiating at the annual event Kumar spoke of the importance of producing quality and marketable products as well as the importance of consistency in the quality of products.
Out of the 76 new Licensed Holders, 54 were awarded the Fijian Crafted Emblem, 9 Fijian Sewn Emblem, 7 Fijian Crafted and Sewn Emblem, 3 Fijian Crafted and Designed Emblem, 2 Fijian Designed, and 1 Fijian Crafted/Made and Designed Emblem.
This brings the total number of entrepreneurs joining the Fijian‑made family to 252.
The 5th National Women’s Expo ended yesterday.
