$7.35M committed by Australia to repair TC Winston damaged markets

The Australian government has committed $7.35 million to rebuild and repair Rakiraki Municipal Market and several other markets that were damaged in Tropical Cyclone Winston.

Australian High Commission Spokesperson says they are committed to support market vendors to return to their income generating activities soon.

According to the Spokesperson, they are still in discussions with the Fijian government about the other markets that will be supported.

They will also be providing $800,000 worth of supplies to the farmers in Rakiraki and other areas.

These supplies will include seeds, farming tools, fertilizers and insecticides.
