A new $70 million five star resort, Pullman Nadi Bay Resort and Spa is expected to open by June 2016.
While officiating at the naming ceremony of the Resort, Minister for Tourism Faiyaz Koya said the resort will have more than 240 rooms with 16 suites, six Restaurants and Bars, and two outdoor swimming pools with water slides.
He added that the resort will also have a health spa, sauna and five retail shops with a conference facility that can cater up to 400 guests.
Koya said this is special occasion as Gokals Group of companies is taking their project to the next level by tying in with the Accor Group which is one of the world’s prominent hotel operators.
Koya said the Tourism Industry directly and indirectly employs approximately a third of the working population in Fiji.
He said the Government wants the industry to move ahead with a focused vision that is to achieve a two billion dollars industry by 2020.
