University of Fiji students during the graduation

The University of Fiji in Lautoka yesterday witnessed the graduation of 68 of its students from all schools of studies including the Umanand Prasad School of Medicine.

At the graduation ceremony the President and Chancellor of UniFiji Ratu Epeli Nailatikau said it is heartening to note that the University has been increasing the number of graduates every year, not just the number of enrollments.

Ratu Epeli said it is clear that UniFiji has created its own place amongst the three universities in the country.

Ratu Epeli urged those who have yet to secure employment to be flexible about their career options.

He said Universities have a responsibility to educate and train its students to meet the needs of and to change society for the better.

He added that as the Chancellor of UniFiji he implores the graduates and the University management to respond with vigour and patriotism to the challenges in Fiji.

This year around 2000 students enrolled at UniFiji.
