An elderly man is in custody at the Totogo Police Station after being allegedly found with a syringe and drugs believed to methamphetamine in the heart of Suva City.
The 64-year-old man was arrested near the Suva Library Carpark last Saturday night by a team of officers on beat patrol near the area.
This arrest comes after CCTV footage emerged in January this year of illicit drugs being injected into a person along Victoria Parade.
The two cases are not related.
The footage which has been viewed by FijiVillage showed a person injecting a man as he was sitting on the ground.
Another was also arrested last Saturday near the Suva Library Carpark after being allegedly found with dried leaves believed to be marijuana.
Police say the seized substances have been sent for analysis.
They continue investigations into these cases.
