The Fijian Elections Office has announced that 637,527 people are eligible to vote in this year’s elections according to Provisional Voters Roll.
While announcing the data, Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem says that there are 316,431 female voters while there are 321,096 male voters.
Saneem says there are 265,184 voters in the Central Division, 244,245 in the West, 94,094 in the North, 26,034 in the Eastern Division while there are 7,970 overseas voters.
Saneem says that 70,519 voters are assigned for Pre‑Poll while 559,038 are eligible for voting on Elections Day.
The Supervisor says that the final numbers for Election Day will be available on the 27th of this month after they have finalized the Postal Voting Applications.
He adds that based on these numbers they will be printing 764,900 ballot papers bound into 15,298 books.
There will be 854 Election Day venues while 582 will be pre‑poll venues.
Saneem confirms that on Election Day they will operate 1,568 polling stations that will be managed by 10,000 staff.
