634,120 people have registered to vote in the 2018 General Elections as of 17th September this year.
Chairman of the Electoral Commission Suresh Chandra says from this there are 314,686 registered female voters and 319,434 registered male voters in our country.
This number is expected to increase as the voter registration closed yesterday.
People will be able to vote from 7.30am to 6pm on 14th November, 2018 which is election day.
Chandra says the candidate nominations will open from 8am today and will close at 12pm on the 15th of this month.
Chandra says that nominations can be withdrawn by 12pm on the 16th of this month and the objections and appeal against nominations to be closed by 4pm on the 16th of this month.
Chandra says that the National Candidates Number Ball Draw will be on the 19th of this month or earlier as determined by the Fijian Elections Office.
He says postal voting applications are now open and will close at 5pm on the 24th of this month.
The Chairman highlights that on the 5th of November, pre‑poll voting in designated areas of the country will begin and will finish on the 10th of November.
The media blackout on campaigning will start at 7.30am on the 12th of November.
