634,120 people have registered to vote in the 2018 general election as at the 17th of this month.
While announcing the latest number on the Voter Roll, Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem says the Central Division has the highest number of voters with 262,629 voters, Eastern Division has 25,877 voters, Western Division has 243,183 voters and the Northern Division has 94,390 voters.
Saneem says 8,041 voters are now registered from overseas and all of these voters are eligible for postal voting.
He says there are 314,686 registered female voters and 319,434 registered male voters in our country.
The number of new registrations between 31st July 2018 and 17th September is 2,421.
Saneem says in total, the Fijian Elections Office has removed 24,426 deceased voters and in 2018 alone, they have removed 14,892 voters.
The oldest voter on the Voters Roll is 117 years old and resides in the Northern Division.
John Wesley College stands to be the largest polling venue with 5,203 voters assigned to that location.
Saneem says the final push is currently underway for voter registration and amendment of voter details as part of the Know Your Election Program. Elections staff will be out in numbers tomorrow at various hotspots to assist people.
When the Writ of Elections is issued, people cannot register or update their details.
Saneem also confirms that the total number of registered voters on 17th September, 2014 was 591,101.
