623 Dengue fever cases recorded so far this year

623 Dengue fever cases have been recorded from January till 3rd August this year.

There are 430 cases of Leptospirosis, 225 cases of Typhoid, 41 cases of Chikungunya and 34 cases of Zika have been recorded by the Ministry of Health.

The Ministry is urging the public to take necessary precautionary and preventative health measures following the current rainy weather patterns that the country is facing.

Minister Jone Usamate says that people must refrain from swimming or wading in flooded waters to avoid waterborne illnesses.

Usamate says failure to do so can cause harm and even loss of lives.

He urges all to keep their surroundings clean and free of any such containers or receptacles.
