Sixty thousand liters of clean drinking water is expected to be shipped to the maritime islands this morning.
Acting Commissioner Northern, Alipate Bolalevu said the Government has paid $140,000 to the Sea Pacific Shipping Company to ship the 60,000 litres of water to the people who are affected by the prolonged dry weather situation in the North.
Bolalevu said the vessel " Kauwai" will depart the Suva wharf today and will sail to Labasa first then to the maritime islands in Bua, Macuata and Cakaudrove.
