156 women from the Central Division have been sponsored to take part in Fiji’s second National Women’s Expo and are all geared up for the event.
Biusalia Tevita, who will be representing the Wailotua Women’s Group at the Expo, said this would be the first time for her to showcase her talent at a national event.
She said all her products are made from Masi like the Tapa fan and Salusalu.
Tevita said marketing has been a challenge for rural women and she thanked the Government for reaching out to them through the Women’s Expo.
Women who are part of the Expo will also be provided opportunities to acquire skills on leadership, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, fashion designing and solar electrification.
600 women will be participating in the event which will be held from next Wednesday to Friday.
The theme for this year’s Expo is ‘Connecting Women to the Markets, Make it Happen’.
