Six people were produced in court yesterday after being charged with drinking and driving during the Easter weekend.
Two were produced at the Sigatoka Magistrates Court while four were produced at the Nadi Magistrates Court.
Amand Chand has pleaded guilty and has been fined $400 and has been disqualified from driving for four months by Magistrate Tomasi Bainivalu.
Mithal Vasishtha Karan has also pleaded guilty to the offence and the matter has been adjourned to next Friday for sentencing.
David Joseph Qiolevu, Relance Roneel Singh and Uma Nand appeared at the Nadi Magistrates Court and have all pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor.
They have been granted bail and will be sentenced on 16th June.
Ian James Jull’s plea has been deferred and he has been bailed $500.
The matter will be called on 21st June for mention as the accused wanted to seek legal advice.
The six were arrested over the long weekend following random breathalyzer tests conducted by traffic officers.
