6 drunk drivers arrested in the last 48 hours

Six people have been arrested for drinking and driving in the last 48 hours in the Southern Division.

Police Chief of Operations ACP Rusiate Tudravu says the six who are aged between 19 and 46 are in custody will be produced in the court in the next sitting.

Tudravu says that anyone found driving under the influence of alcohol and in breach of the prescribed limit will remain in custody this long weekend under the no bail policy.

He says police officers continue to beef up presence along the busy roads.
