5th suspect arrested in Distill Outlet robbery

Police have managed to arrest the fifth suspect in relation to an incident where Police Commissioner, Ben Groenewald received superficial wounds while trying to stop a robbery at the Distill outlet in Flagstaff last Thursday.

Spokesperson Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri confirms Uate Baleiono was apprehended early this morning.

The suspect is now being questioned. 

Meanwhile, four men have been remanded in custody by the Suva Magistrates Court.

Jeke Vakararawa, Tevita Qaqanivalu, Seremaia Mudura and Mosese Tarau have been charged with six counts of aggravated robbery, one count of theft of a motor vehicle and one count of act with intent to cause grievous harm.

They are all unemployed and in their 20s.

The case will be called again tomorrow.
