55-year-old Pastor, Sakaraia Mataka and his 15‑year‑old son Paula Tekei who were onboard the FlySax aircraft that crashed in the Aberdare forest in Kenya have been laid to rest.
The aircraft crashed killing 10 people.
Fiji’s Head of Mission in Ethiopia, Mosese Tikoitoga facilitated the arrangements and also attended the funeral.
Kenya media reports that the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority stated that an investigation into the accident was launched immediately.
Countries involved in the investigations include the United States, Canada and Fiji.
Meanwhile, the Suva Christian Mission Fellowship International confirmed that Pastor Sakaraia Mataka and his family have been working in a small, remote town of Kitale in Nairobi for more than 10 years.
The father and son were reported to be on their way to Fiji.
