53‑year‑old Aidong Zhang has been released on bail by Suva Magistrate, Makereta Mua.
Zhang was issued bail conditions which include that he will have to report to the Raiwaqa Police Station every Saturday between 8am to 5pm.
He was also told not to interfere with witnesses.
Zhang had surrendered his passport earlier this week.
The defence counsel produced two sureties with $5,000 bail bond each.
The case is adjourned to 13th January for the second phase of disclosures.
Zhang is charged with count of obtaining property by deception and one count of money laundering.
It is alleged that Zhang had sold a property for more than $1.2 million without the knowledge of the complainant between June 2014 and January 2016.
