People can expect better roads and bridges as the government has allocated a budget of $527.2 million for the Fiji Roads Authority.
$31.8 million has been given for the cyclone rehabilitation work of roads, bridges and jetties.
$4.5 million has been allocated for the urgent repair of nine priority bridges which includes Walu Bay bridge, Tamavua-i-Wai bridge, Labasa bridge, Lami bridge, Vesidrau bridge, Tavualevu bridge, Naiyalayala bridge, Matanaivuso bridge and Nakasava bridge.
The government has given $56.6 million for the four lane projects for Nadi and Suva.
$38.2 million has been given for the upgrading and replacement of bridges while $79.8 million for the maintenance programme.
