A 50‑year‑old pastor and a senior member of Agape Healing Church Ministry who is charged with 5 counts of rape appeared in the Nasinu Magistrates Court today and made an application for bail.
Waisake Tulavu who has three separate cases has made an application for bail saying he has to attend to his ministry in Naitasiri.
Tulavu has been jointly charged with a senior member of the church, Sakiusa Nakutoro with a count of rape.
The alleged incident happened on the 11th of May this year where both allegedly raped a 29‑year‑old woman who is also a member of the church.
Tulavu is also charged with 3 counts of rape of a 22‑year‑old woman.
The alleged incidents occurred between the 1st of May to the 31st of May this year.
Tulavu is further charged with one count of rape of a 32‑year‑old woman.
The alleged incident occurred on the 15th of September this year.
Magistrate Charles Ratakele will make a decision on Tulavu’s bail application this Friday.
Police Prosecutor Krishan Keshwan made an application for the case to be transferred to the Suva High Court.
The three victims in this case have no domestic relation to the accused persons.
