508 the first number on 2018 General Election ballot paper

The first number that will appear on the ballot paper for the 2018 General Election is 508.

The ball draw which was done at the Fijian Elections Office included a blindfolded person randomly select the numbers 5,0 and 8 after the draw.

Electoral Commission Chairman Suresh Chandra has approved the number 508 to be the first number on the ballot paper.

Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem says Fijians will now need to be familiar of the range of numbers after 508.

Saneem says they will now work on awareness material for the public.
