Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama stressed that the five parties including the Social Democratic Liberal Party need to move on and accept the election result and stop making allegations about the result without producing any credible evidence.
Speaking to Fijivillage after he was hosted to morning tea at the RFMF Headquarters with other former military officers who have made it into parliament, Bainimarama said that SODELPA Leader, Ro Teimumu Kepa is listening to Mahendra Chaudhry and Mick Beddoes.
When asked on Ro Teimumu’s comments that they will call for an inquiry into the elections, Bainimarama said the process for electoral disputes is clear and the evidence is not being presented as claimed by the parties.
Bainimarama also said the opposition parties should not forget that the FijiFirst has won the elections and it is wrong for Ro Teimumu to call them usurpers.
The Prime Minister also said the military played a big role to ensure that the people of Fiji overcome racial discrimination in the country and to ensure that race based policies and legislations are removed.
When questioned on his future plans, Bainimarama said he hopes to lead the FijiFirst into the next elections in 2018.
Bainimarama is currently assessing the names of the 31 FijiFirst parliamentarians and who should get ministerial positions.
The cabinet ministers will be sworn-in at 2pm today.
We will also have the full 1 hour video interview with Bainimarama right here on our website soon.
