The 4th Bilateral Working Group between the Fiji Police Force and the Indonesian National Police was held in Nadi yesterday and will enable a strengthened relationship between the two delegations.
The Fijian delegation was headed by the Acting Deputy Commissioner, Itendra Nair while the Indonesian National Police delegation was led by Senior Superintendent Jimmy Agustinus.
The discussions revolved around means and ways to further strengthen and deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, as well as capacity building programs between the two countries.
The two heads of delegations expressed their satisfaction to the ongoing state of cooperation between Indonesia and Fiji and in light of the threats of emerging crimes called on the bilateral group to pursue avenues to further enhance police cooperation between the two institutions.
The next Bilateral Working Group meeting is expected to be held in Indonesia in 2019.
