495,105 votes from 2,022 polling stations processed, FijiFirst leads with 292,870 votes

495,105 votes from 2,022 polling stations have now been processed by the Elections Office and according to the official count the FijiFirst is still leading with 292,870 votes.

FijiFirst Leader, Voreqe Bainimarama has received 201,988 out of the 292,870 FijiFirst votes processed so far.

70 percent of the FijiFirst’s votes is received by Bainimarama. 

He has received 40 percent of the total valid votes counted and processed in the elections.

Social Democratic Liberal Party is in second place with 139,583 votes.

SODELPA Leader, Ro Teimumu Kepa has received 49,395 of the 139,583 SODELPA votes.

This is 10 percent of the total valid votes processed so far.

The National Federation Party has 27,011 votes.

According to the official results announced so far, the FijiFirst has 59.20 percent of the total votes, SODELPA has 28.20 percent while NFP has 5.50 percent.

These are the only parties that are above the 5 percent threshold to qualify for parliamentary seats.

As predicted, the FijiFirst will form the next government while the likely opposition parties in parliament will be SODELPA and NFP.

Based on the current calculations from the official count, the FijiFirst is likely to have 32 seats, SODELPA 15 seats and NFP 3 seats.

The ranking of the top 50 candidates who go into parliament, will be revealed later this morning.

Official results from only 6 polling stations are yet to be processed.

The People’s Democratic Party has 3.2 percent of the votes, the Fiji Labour Party has 2.4 percent while One Fiji has 1.2 percent.

This is the official results from the count after proper audits conducted on each count as required under the Electoral Decree.

Please disregard the previous results announced by the Elections Office as they were all provisional results.
