494 schools damaged during Cyclone Winston

494 schools sustained damage during Tropical Cyclone Winston.

Minister for Education Dr Mahendra Reddy says the total cost of the damage sustained is about $69.2 million.

Dr Reddy says these damages range from minor to 100 percent damage.

He says the RFMF engineers and people from the Ministry of Infrastructure are currently carrying out the repair work on 30 schools damaged by Cyclone Winston.

Dr Reddy says there are some private companies and NGOs who have also started repair works on other schools.
