A 48-year-old man and the woman he allegedly attacked in Labasa last Wednesday are still admitted in hospital.
The suspect and the victim are married.
Police Spokesperson Ana Naisoro says that the alleged incident happened in Waikisi, Labasa when the police officers were attending to a case of breach of Domestic Violence Restraining Order.
It is alleged that the suspect locked his wife and threatened her with a spear.
Naisoro says the woman managed to free herself and when the officers were assisting her, the husband threw a spear at her.
She says when the officers were trying to arrest the man he resisted and threatened the officers and threw the spear which pierced the police vehicle tyre.
