43 households of Yarovudi village in Levuka will soon have an improved water supply as part of the Water Authority of Fiji’s Rural Unit Project.
Water Authority of Fiji’s CEO Opetaia Ravai says the work is almost complete which includes the construction of a 45,000-litre cement tank, the laying of pipes and the installation of 26 taps and showers.
He says the villagers have experienced water supply disruptions as the number of households has increased over the years, creating a demand for more water.
Ravai says a contract has been signed between the Authority and the Village Water Committee whereby the village will supply labour to assist in the water project construction.
Yarovudi Village Water Committee Chairman Serupepeli Nagalu says everyone in the village was helping to complete the project.
