A total of 4,197 police officers will be engaged in the elections operation duty providing security and maintaining law and order.
This was highlighted by the Minister for Defence Ratu Inoke Kubuabola when questioned by SODELPA MP Semesa Karavaki if the $2 million allocated in the 2018/2019 National Budget is the only expenses that police will require for its participation in the General Elections.
Kubuabola says that the allocation is enough for the operations that will be conducted in three phases.
He says these three phases include pre-election, election day and post elections.
Kubuabola also highlighted that there are 3,046 Police Officers in the regular force and 1,150 are Special Constables.
