4 suspects now in police custody over carjacking incident in Lautoka

Four suspects are now in police custody in relation to the carjacking incident in Kashmir, Lautoka last Thursday night.

Two men were arrested in Suva, one in Sigatoka while the fourth suspect was arrested and is in custody at the Nakasi Police Station and he will first face charges for his involvement in other robbery cases. 

A 28-year-old man who was charged with one count of aggravated robbery and three counts of theft in relation to the Lautoka carjacking in relation to this case has been further remanded in custody.

Meanwhile a suspect is in police custody after he was arrested in relation to another carjacking at Tikaram Place in Nemadi Heights yesterday.

Police are looking for another two suspects.

The video of an attempted carjacking started circulating on social media yesterday which shows a taxi driver being robbed at Tikaram Place, Namadi Heights.

A report was lodged by the driver after 3 men who had hired his taxi from Suva robbed him at the roundabout where the video was shot.
