Four people lost their lives in separate drowning incidents over the weekend.
Police Spokesperson, Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri says a 13‑year‑old boy of Kalekana in Lami drowned near Suva Point.
The victim's body has been recovered.
A class 8 student living in Kalabu drowned whilst trying to retrieve his flip-flop from a river.
The body was recovered by a farmer yesterday.
In the third incident, a 16‑year‑old student drowned while swimming with her younger sister at Naiborebore village in Nadroga.
A 23‑year‑old man also drowned in the Sabeto river while swimming with his friends.
Investigations continue.
