Four people are in custody at the Labasa Police Station after they were found with dried leaves and plants believed to be marijuana.
Divisional Police Commander Northern Senior Superintendent of Police Verani Nakauyaca says the raid was conducted with the assistance of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces as information was received that the four were allegedly in possession of dangerous items that could have seriously harmed their officers.
SSP Nakauyaca says that based on the information received, they conducted two other raids in Savusavu.
He says the raids were conducted in Tacilevu and more than 300 plants were found on two farms ranging from 1 metre to 5 metres.
SSP Nakauyaca says the Duavata Community Policing concept of working together to eradicate crime continues to be felt and is a clear indication that people are wanting to make a difference in their communities.
