4 men allegedly involved in home invasion appear in court

Four men who were allegedly involved in a home invasion in Navua on the 15th of September this year, appeared before High Court Judge Justice Salesi Temo today.

31‑year‑old Taitusi Delai from Lautoka has been charged with one count of aggravated robbery, one count of theft and one count of theft of a motor vehicle.

32‑year‑old Nacanieli Bakata of Nadi has been charged with one count of theft of a motor vehicle and one count of aggravated robbery.

22‑year‑old Josaia Dobui and 26‑year‑old Ilaitia Vuivuda both of Nadi have been charged with one count of aggravated robbery.

It is alleged that the four men threatened the homeowners with kitchen knives and iron rods and demanded cash.

The four men allegedly taped the family members and asked one of them to take their ATM card with them and they allegedly withdrew $1,000 cash from the ATM.

The matter will be called for mention on the 3rd of November.
