39 police officers killed in suicide attack in Jammu and Kashmir, India

At least 39 police officers were killed in one of the deadliest terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, India when a suicide bomber rammed a vehicle carrying over 100 kg of explosives into their bus in Pulwama district that also left many critically wounded.

Officials say more than 2,500 Central Reserve Police Force personnel, many of them returning from leave to rejoin duty in the Valley, were travelling in the convoy of 78 vehicles when they were ambushed.

India Police identified the suicide bomber as Adil Ahmed.

Condemning the terrorist attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi says that the sacrifice of the brave security personnel will not go in vain.
