Thirty eight female market vendors of Labasa yesterday received certificates for successfully completing a training organized by the UN Women and the Australian Government.
Minister for Local Government Praveen Bala said the certificates signify the partnership between the government and the UN Women to see that people at the grass root level improve their earnings.
Bala said the knowledge that the female market vendors generated through the training will increase their financial returns of their market produce.
He added that the training will also improve the other factors of their lives such as their leadership skills, product development, and healthy living.
His ministry will continue to support the municipalities around the country, through infrastructure development and improvement in service delivery.
