35 schools investigated regarding misuse of school grants

35 schools have been investigated regarding the misusing of the school grants so far this year.

Education Minister, Dr Mahendra Reddy says they have done their own investigations and based on their findings they have either referred the matter to FICAC or centrally control funds.

However, the Ministry has not revealed how much fund was misused.

Meanwhile, Reddy says two Secondary Schools and 115 Primary Schools have not submitted their Audited Financial Reports and the AGM minutes so far.

He says 144 schools in total are yet to receive their school grants.

Reddy added that they are reviewing the Audited Financial Reports and AGM of 30 primary schools for this financial year after which the grants will be released accordingly.
