30,557 traffic infringement notices were issued from 1st January to date of which speeding is the highest with 18,600.
Failure to wear seatbelts amounts to 1,187, careless driving was 677, illegal operation was 477 while other running offences amounted to 8,945.
41 road fatalities have been recorded so far this year.

Meanwhile, there were seven road fatalities recorded during Operation Tatarovi lll which ran from June 26th to 31st July.
A total of 12,801 traffic infringement notices were issued during this period of which 6,543 were issued for speeding, failure to wear seat belts amounted to 937, careless driving was 315, illegal operation was 310, driving without drivers license was 244 while 4,198 notices were issued for other running offences.
Police Director of Traffic, Mahesh Mishra says that Operation Tatarovi lll has been extended to the end of the month.

Mishra says they are concerned with the attitude of the drivers.
He says drivers sharing information on messages on messenger platforms about the location of enforcement officers is also not helping.
