Thirty successful applicants who have applied for the New Zealand Recognised Seasonal Employer Scheme (RSE) under a pilot program are expected to leave next month.
This was confirmed by Minister of Employment Jioji Konrote.
Konrote said the Ministry is in the process of finalizing the final thirty people in the next couple of weeks.
He said the Ministry is hopeful the pilot program will be a success so that more Fijians are able to benefit from the scheme.
Konrote has also clarified that under the selection criteria the Scheme requires workers to be fit and of good health condition.
He added that applicants are to be registered under the National Employment Centre and have a valid Fijian passport.
Other General Criteria include being unemployed, living in a Rural setting, hold a National Medical Card issued by Ministry of Health, have a Police Clearance, and a general health Medical Clearance.
Applicants must also be English literate, have some skills in agro-farming and have the clearance to travel overseas.
