Police have questioned and released 3 of the students that were allegedly involved in the assault of a student at a Lautoka school last Friday.

Another 3 students will be questioned this afternoon.

Earlier today, police had asked relatives of the student who was assaulted not to interfere with their work as they continue their investigations.

Another fight almost broke out between some relatives of the victim and some senior students at the school earlier this afternoon.

Police had to intervene and asked the other relatives of the victim to stay away from the students and let them investigate the matter.

The parents of the student who was allegedly assaulted met with the principal of the school, police and officials from the Education Ministry today.

The Year 11 student was allegedly assaulted by other students at the school on Friday afternoon.

Fijivillage understands that video footage of the alleged incident was played in front of the parents, police and two Ministry of Education representatives.

The family has told Fijivillage that the student who is a prefect in his school went to stop an argument and he was allegedly bashed up by a group of students.

The student had to be taken to a hospital as he received facial injuries.
