Three people allegedly found in possession of drugs will be produced in court today.

Police conducted a raid at the home of a 42-year-old man in Lautoka last Thursday after information was received by the Western Division Operations team of the suspect’s alleged involvement in drug-related activities.

The assistance of Water Authority of Fiji officials was sought when officers suspected he had quickly disposed of the drugs and the process of extracting the parcels from the sewer lines eventually led to the discovery of close to 30 parcels of dried marijuana leaves.

The 42-year-old man and 31-year-old woman who were arrested at the scene have been charged with one count each of being in possession of illicit drugs.

The two will be produced in the Lautoka Magistrates Court today.

Meanwhile, a raid conducted by Eastern Division Police operations last Thursday night at the home of a 33-year-old self‑employed man in Nakasi resulted in the seizure of white crystals believed to be methamphetamine and apparatus allegedly used for manufacturing the drugs.

The man has been charged with two counts of being in possession of illicit drugs.

He will be produced in the Nasinu Magistrates Court today.

A 29-year-old woman who is a teacher and was also arrested has been charged with one count of obstruction because she allegedly tore up the search warrant produced by the officers prior to the search.

The woman is in custody at the Korovou Remand Centre.
