Three inmates have been assisted under the Operation Solesolevaki which was implemented last year.
Operation Solesolevaki aims at re-establishing the relationship between the inmate and the vanua, church and the general public.
The Fiji Corrections Services states that this will help them in partnering and networking in a consolidated effort to resolve the lives of inmates who are often rejected by the society.
They say work is currently in progress at Manu Settlement in Wainibuka for a 43-year-old inmate who is set to be released in five weeks.
This inmate will become the third person to be assisted under Operation Solesolevaki which was implemented last year.
A team of officers accompanied the inmate home last week to begin work in his farm, and the intention is to prepare him for his release so that he is not dependent on others.
The inmate says ever since he got imprisoned for domestic violence, he has been asking God to direct his path and this has taught him to control his temper because that has been his downfall.
He says such programs give them hope and it is an eye opener for them.
